We made friends quickly that day. At the same time, we probably learned more about some of the students than their parents would appreciate.
I was told by one little boy that he wanted to hold my hand and then asked whether I would be his friend, hold his lunchbox & have a playdate with him.
Personally, I got attached to these children quickly. The love from children is something so beautiful. Those kids did not care for our family background, educational degrees or physical appearance. They were just glad someone new was there to play with them.
What the Father desires from us is nothing fancy. Like the children, He just wants to spend time with us.
Carissa and I spent Friday afternoon writing twenty-five cards to our new friends. The Father showed me a glimpse of how wonderful the world would be if we all loved with selfless hearts. Hopefully those cards will successful translate the abundant appreciation I had towards the time they spent with me.
